Report: Ambassador says US may slap new sanctions on Russia

MOSCOW, Nov 8 (PRIME) -- Washington may impose new sanctions on Moscow, Russian ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov said in an interview to Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast on November 3.

“It would be wrong to say that there is no probability of sanctions announced against Russia today or tomorrow. Such probability exists,” he said, adding that that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries is improving in spite of that.

The U.S. investment in the Russian economy is getting close to U.S. $100 billion, and the trade turnover between the states grew by 40% to $24.2 billion in January–August, he said.
